About The Position

Primary responsibility includes supervision of patient services staff to ensure the efficient daily operation of patient and cafe food services. Oversees staff training, development, coaching, education, and discipline. Responsible for sanitation standards and requirements. Supervises assigned area quality, timeliness, staffing issues, facilitate in-service/meetings, and special projects assigned by manager. Responsible for performance improvement for room service, including recovery. Ensures ongoing regulatory readiness of the staff and service. Oversees inventory, supplies, stocking. Ensures food service areas are maintained, clean, orderly, and consistent. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Requirements

  • Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position.

  • High School Diploma and/or combination of education and experience
  • 3 years food service management
  • Certified Food Safety Manager
  • Valid Driver's License

  • Associate's Degree in nutrition, food service management
  • Dietary certificate or equivalent
  • 2 - 3 years healthcare food service management
  • 1 year healthcare food service management at Palomar Health
