About The Position

The Supervisory Military Pay Technician plans, schedules, and assigns work to subordinates, adjusting duties to make use of employee skills, manage changing workloads, reduce pay-action backlogs, and ensure timely processing. The position oversees the technical work of Military Pay Technicians, interprets complex regulations and system updates, and reviews work with authority to accept, amend, or reject transactions. The role analyzes customer feedback and operational metrics to identify problem areas, choose appropriate actions, and implement workflow changes that improve productivity and quality. It also carries out human-resources responsibilities, including developing performance plans and appraisals, hiring, scheduling leave, initiating awards or disciplinary actions, and maintaining attendance records. Travel is seldom required. Telework is available only rarely, on a case-by-case basis when agency leadership determines it serves a compelling DoD need.
