Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) Sociology, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling or Guidance and Counseling required
  • 2+ years' experience in casework or case management at a human service agency required
  • Must use personal vehicle to transport children, complete in-house car seat transporter training within one month of hire and re-train biannually thereafter to maintain.
  • On-call availability of 24 hours per day 7 days per week on a rotational basis.
  • Knowledge in the application of theories, practices, and techniques of casework.
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations pertaining to social services, children, youth and families.
  • Knowledge of community resources and how to utilize them effectively.
  • Skill in performance evaluation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and ability to supervise workers.
  • Ability to define problem areas, assemble facts and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with staff, clients, social service agencies, public officials and others.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • License Driver's License - State of Wisconsin required

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds preferred
  • License Social Worker (120) - State of Wisconsin preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides service in a manner that demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to the client’s cultural values and beliefs.
  • Regularly reviews and evaluates workers’ performance as related to case recommendations and activities. Measurements occur around frequency, intensiveness, outcomes, effectiveness and compliance with department, county and state policy regulations.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations to promote mission and goals of the Ongoing and In-Home Services Programs.
  • Guides workers in organizing field and office work e.g. conducting case assignment studies, investigations and case plans, evaluating decisions, implementing case management services, utilizing community resources, reviewing case progress and compiling case records.
  • Ensures that Child Welfare Case Managers meet expectation of monthly face-to-face contact, ASFA compliance and all other requirements.
  • Directs and assists Child Welfare Case Managers in utilizing the Family Teaming approach to ensure the development of strong linkages within the community.
  • Reviews Child Welfare Case Managers’ documentation and reports for professionalism, appropriate content and timeliness of documentation.
  • Reviews and approves/denies service authorizations requests to ensure identified services appropriately address client needs as identified in the case plan.
  • Participates and assists in provision of staff development and training opportunities and guides case managers in their professional development.
  • Coordinates and plans weekly unit meeting and individual supervision with staff.
  • Performs people management responsibilities for employees which may include but are not limited to: employee engagement, recruitment, performance management and development
