About The Position

The Support Teacher supervises and performs the daily functions of a classroom group of children, creating a supportive classroom culture and building genuine relationships with each child. The role supports children as they explore, develop motor skills, expand their vocabulary, and learn about the world around them. The Support Teacher works with a co-teacher to implement lesson plans based on the research-informed Balanced Learning® curriculum and maintains a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence. The teacher observes Primrose School of West Allen’s rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and national requirements related to children’s health, safety, and care. Classrooms are stocked with supplies, and the Leadership Team provides training and in-classroom support to help create a safe, healthy environment where children and team members can thrive. Compensation is $14.00–$16.00 per hour.

Requirements

Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a teaching or assistant-teaching position in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
