About The Position

Mastery Schools is a public charter network of 23 K-12 schools in Philadelphia and Camden, serving over 14,000 students. The Support Teacher will collaborate with lead Bilingual Teachers to cultivate a warm, student-achievement-driven school culture.   • Fluent in English and Haitian Creole.
  • Associate's degree required.
  • Previous student teaching, classroom teaching, or experience working or volunteering with school-aged children strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred in Education or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with lead bilingual teachers to implement curriculum and utilize classroom routines and procedures in English and Haitian Creole.
  • Collaborate with lead teachers to analyze student assessment data and inform instruction.
  • Provide small group instruction to students for individualized academic support and content mastery.
  • Participate in grade level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, and ensure student mastery of standards.
  • Engage in lesson planning and preparation to support strong classroom instruction.
  • Actively participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Provide substitute teaching coverage for colleagues as needed.
  • Potentially provide whole group instruction in select subjects (up to two classes per day) as instructional and classroom management skills increase.
  • Assist lead teacher with other student responsibilities as requested.
  • Perform additional roles and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
