About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in a residential group home setting. You’ll help people live safe, fulfilling lives while building trusting relationships that encourage independence and personal choice. Marrakech provides person-centered support and advocacy that enhances quality of life and promotes independence for individuals with and without disabilities always with dignity, respect, and meaningful connection at the center. For more than 50 years, Marrakech has supported over 1,000 individuals across Connecticut each year, helping people of all abilities build confidence, independence, and strong community connections.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Connecticut Driver’s License
  • Ability to obtain DDS Medication Certification, CPR, and First Aid

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is helpful—but not required. We provide paid training to help you succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with daily living skills such as personal care, meals, and routines
  • Supporting medical needs and appointments
  • Following individualized support and behavior plans
  • Encouraging community involvement and social engagement
  • Completing routine overnight safety checks (for overnight staff)
  • Working collaboratively as part of a compassionate, supportive team
