About The Position

This is a part-time, substitute Teacher Assistant position focused on Literacy at Long Elementary School. The role involves working with classroom teachers, typically in grades K-2, to lead small group reading instruction and support student learning. The position is Monday-Friday, 3.5 hours per day, for a total of 17.5 hours per week. An anticipated start date is 10/1/2026, with an anticipated end date of 1/19/2027. The hourly rate is $22.95. A Substitute Certification is required, and a Missouri Teacher Certification is preferred. This is a non-exempt position, and benefits are not included.

Requirements

• Substitute Certification Required
• Experience working with students in grades K-2 is preferred.
• Experience in small group reading instruction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works in the classroom with small groups on reading instruction (comprehension, fluency, decoding, vocabulary) for typically grades K-2.
• Communicates frequently with classroom teachers to share data and observations.
• Plans and restocks shelves with guided reading library books.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
