About The Position

As a Support Services Technician with Corewell Health, you will work across multiple locations and departments, including Environmental Services, Nutrition Services, Reception, Patient Transport, and Supply Chain. Communication and collaboration with other team members are essential to maintaining continuity of service and fostering a positive work environment. The position is part of the patient care team and helps create a positive patient experience by providing a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment. The role is part-time, based at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, with variable workdays and every-other-weekend work. The posting lists evening shift and hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; weekly scheduled hours are 8.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience in customer service and/or other related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association for Patient Transport, preferred within 90 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross for Patient Transport, preferred within 90 days.
• Accredited Food Handler certification from the ANSI National Accreditation Board, preferred within 90 days.
• Accredited Food Allergy Certificate from the ANSI National Accreditation Board, preferred within 90 days.
• Accredited Food Protection Manager (CFP) certification from the ANSI National Accreditation Board, preferred within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Refer to the job description for the role being performed and use its associated technology.
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff, visitors, and patients or residents to provide a high level of customer service and care.
• Help provide a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment that positively impacts the patient experience.
• Greet, communicate with, and assist visitors, staff, and/or patients in navigating the hospital.
• Complete special projects as assigned, with specific direction.
