About The Position

Sullivan University is seeking a full-time Support Services Technician for its Lexington location. This role provides essential support to the Sullivan University System campuses and business locations, focusing on the desktop environment for classrooms, public areas, staff, faculty, and students. Key responsibilities include configuring classroom computer setups, managing network printing, and coordinating support efforts with the centralized help desk. The position operates Monday-Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with a rotating on-call schedule for Saturdays and Sundays.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Two years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems.
  • Call Center or previous helpdesk experience preferred.
  • Must possess excellent customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with users at all levels and build productive and collaborative working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail while working for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with students, faculty, and staff face to face and via the telephone.
  • Must be able to maneuver about campus and business unit facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Answers help desk calls as received and uses tracking software to track and manage help requests.
  • Provides basic troubleshooting for user requests pertaining to systems and network management.
  • Assists in hardware trouble shooting requests of student, faculty and staff computing equipment.
  • Assists in configuration of classroom networks and hardware equipment when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
