About The Position

Support Services Technicians (SST) are responsible for inventory, restocking and cleaning ambulances that are offline, and decontaminating and preparing various equipment for use. This position is an entry level position designed to introduce the employee to Field Operations equipment and develop maneuvering skills while driving ambulances at low speed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 19 years old at the time of hire.
  • Current California Driver License.
  • Must have 2 complete years of driving experience.
  • Must meet insurability guidelines.
  • Must have basic math and reading skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory, fuel, and clean/decontaminate ambulances.
  • Pick up used/contaminated equipment from hospitals or other locations and clean/decontaminate and store for future use.
  • Delivery of equipment and supplies to other work locations as needed.
  • Maintain building cleanliness as directed by the CSR Supervisor.
  • Assist the CSR Supervisor with inventory duties.
  • Ability to drive company vehicles without accommodation.
  • Arrives at all work assignments on time, in appropriate attire.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Ensuring all safety rules and guidelines are followed accordingly.
  • Meets all or complies with all Equipment, Emotional, Physical, and Environmental demands.
  • Maintains a professional appearance when representing American Ambulance.
  • Answer the telephone and distribute calls and messages.
  • Responsible for completing and accurately documenting all paperwork and/or computerized records.
  • Notify other department supervisors of potentially inappropriate activities exhibited by other employees.
  • Promote good morale by exhibiting exemplary conduct, a positive attitude, and support for all personnel and American Ambulance.
  • Attend all meetings as required.
  • Participate in investigations as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the proper use of all facilities and equipment.
  • Responsible for returning all issued equipment in working condition at the end of employment or when requested.
  • Collaborate with the CSR Supervisor to ensure cross-training and mutual understanding of key functions, providing coverage and continuity during absences or high-demand periods.
