About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978, specializing in standard, next-day ground delivery. With headquarters in St. Cloud, MN, the company has expanded throughout the Midwest and employs over 1,800 people. The Support Route Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring daily delivery operations run smoothly by filling in on open or unassigned routes. This position requires flexibility to adapt to varying routes and schedules while upholding high standards of safety, service, and delivery. A new branch location is opening in November 2026.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
Possess good customer service and can work independently
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check

Responsibilities

Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned routes based on business needs
Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages
Collect payments for certain packages delivered
Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
Perform other related duties as assigned
