About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is seeking a Support Route Driver to fill in on open or unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. This role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards. Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company started in 1978, with its corporate headquarters in St. Cloud, MN. The company has expanded throughout the Midwest and employs over 1,800 people.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
Possess good customer service and can work independently
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check

Responsibilities

Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs
Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages
Collect payments for certain packages delivered
Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
Perform other related duties as assigned
