About The Position
Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join their team in Philadelphia, PA. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong desire to create long-term impacts on individuals' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. The DSP will work in various settings, following an Individual Support Plan to help individuals with social and communication skills, daily hygiene, personal care, and navigating daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry, thereby enhancing their independence and fostering pride.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
- Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.
- Following the Individual Support Plan.
- Working on social and communication skills.
- Assisting with daily hygiene and personal care.
- Teaching individuals to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry.
