As a part of the Ambulatory clinic, the Support Coordinator provides smooth outpatient flow, resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation. This role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate multiple appointments with many multi-specialty clinical services. The Support Coordinator participates in a variety of duties associated with the daily clinic preparation process, including customer service, message distribution, procedure scheduling, encounter registration, and referrals management. They assist with all aspects of patient care, answer patient phone calls, verify insurance benefits, prepare charts for clinic, and prepare charge tickets for clinic visits. The role also coordinates the organization and standardization of Spine Center forms, manages document flow in the office, and triages patient calls to licensed personnel when medical judgment or advice is warranted. Additionally, the Support Coordinator cross-covers the front reception, handles patient arrivals, collects and posts over-the-counter monies, and performs batch closures. They coordinate clinic schedules, patient appointments, and follow-ups, and obtain authorization and coordinate diagnostic testing for patients as ordered by the Spine Center provider. Comfort with computers and medical terminology is essential, and the ability to work with any physician in the Spine Center is required. Other duties as assigned.
