About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Supply Technician for our customer site in North Charleston, SC. This role involves providing expertise and supervision to the LMADIS Materials Management team, generating material purchase status reports, and collaborating with various departments like Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality Assurance to manage material needs, execute common buys, and establish long-term supplier agreements. The technician will also be responsible for furnishing Build of Materials (BOMs) for RFQ and procurement, resolving program shortages by analyzing back-orders, and ensuring timely vendor deliveries. Additionally, the role includes collecting, receiving, documenting, and inventorying merchandise, identifying and reporting any missing, lost, or damaged materials, ensuring proper packing and labeling, supervising material through computer input, and assisting with the training of new employees.

  • Expertise in materials management
  • Ability to supervise a team
  • Experience in generating material purchase status reports
  • Experience working with Purchasing Teams to execute common buys and build long-term agreements
  • Experience working with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Purchasing to identify and qualify new suppliers
  • Ability to collaborate with other managers to determine material needs
  • Experience furnishing Build of Materials (BOMs) to Purchasing for RFQ and procurement requirements
  • Ability to resolve program shortages by reviewing and analyzing back-orders
  • Experience making periodic calls to vendors to ensure promised dates are kept
  • Experience collecting merchandise from shipping and receiving and transporting materials
  • Experience receiving and documenting merchandise for delivery or return
  • Experience keeping an inventory of merchandise
  • Ability to identify and report missing, lost, or damaged materials
  • Experience ensuring merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled
  • Experience supervising material through computer input
  • Ability to assist with training of newly employed workers

Responsibilities

  • Provides expertise and the ability to supervise the LMADIS Materials Management team
  • Provides material purchase status reports to management
  • Work with Purchasing Team to execute common buys across programs and Build long term agreements with key suppliers
  • Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Purchasing to identify and qualify new suppliers
  • Collaborates with other managers to determine material needs
  • Working with all Program Managers, Engineers, and Program Logisticians to furnish complete Build of Materials (BOMs) to Purchasing for RFQ and procurement requirements
  • Resolve program shortages by reviewing and analyzing all back-orders
  • Periodic calls to vendors to insure promised dates are kept
  • Collecting merchandise from the Shipping and receiving section and safely transporting materials to the receiving area
  • Receiving and documenting merchandise for delivery or return
  • Keeping an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse
  • Identifying any missing, lost or damaged materials and immediately notify the Management
  • Ensuring that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled
  • Supervise all material through computer input
  • Assisting with training of newly employed workers
