About The Position

Performs limited aspects of technical supply management work, including inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Responsible for inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items, supplies, and equipment. Manages material coordination for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. Responsible for cataloging supply channels of a particular agency or field establishment. Works within established supply regulations, policies, and procedures. Deals with operating officials regarding program needs and inventory requirements, and contacts commercial firms for information on new items or procurement lead times, or government agencies regarding property utilization.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of material/supply functions, either in the military services or in commercial applications.
  • Knowledgeable of governing supply systems/programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines.
  • Analytical ability to define problems, collect necessary data, establish facts, and to take recommended action based upon applicable established guidelines.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driving permit.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

  • High school degree or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Performs warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
  • Verifies materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Routes materials to prescribed storage locations.
  • Stores, stacks, or pallets materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  • Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials.
  • Examines stored materials, reports deterioration and damage, removes material from storage, and prepares it for shipment.
  • May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
  • Performs miscellaneous quality assurance duties including inspections, inventory process checks, inspecting and examining materials, and article inspections.
  • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
