About The Position

Starfield LION is a leading manufacturer of PPE products for firefighters and first responders in North America, producing firefighter turnout suits and station wear. This role is crucial in supporting the production of these essential items and helping to protect firefighters. The Supply Planner manages purchasing, inventory, and material planning to ensure timely material availability, supporting production and customer requirements. This position utilizes MRP tools and Oracle EBS to analyze demand, manage purchase orders, and coordinate supply activities. The role involves identifying and resolving supply risks, adjusting stocking parameters, leading cycle count and inventory audit activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency, inventory control, and on-time customer delivery.

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Supply Chain or equivalent in experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.
  • Understanding of MRP, inventory management, and supply planning processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, BOMs, routings, and product configurations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment.
  • Self-motivated and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada and, where applicable, must have a valid work permit.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Apparel or Textile industry considered a huge asset.

Responsibilities

  • Create, review, and maintain purchase orders to ensure timely material availability and supplier performance.
  • Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools to analyze demand and generate supply recommendations.
  • Manage and perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Maintain and update inventory data and transactions within Oracle EBS.
  • Support the administration of inventory planning parameters, including safety stock levels and min/max settings.
  • Analyze material requirements and coordinate supply activities to ensure production schedules and customer demand are met.
  • Identify material shortages, supply risks, and planning discrepancies, and develop corrective actions to support on-time customer deliveries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support supply chain, inventory, production planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
