A supply planner delivers business value by developing tactical inventory plans and establishing inventory levels for assigned products to achieve customer service, supply chain, and financial objectives. The role partners with suppliers, manufacturing locations, and cross functional teams to support plan execution, identify risks, and resolve supply gaps with guidance as needed.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in supply planning or a related supply chain role
  • Experience using ERP systems or planning tools to support supply or inventory planning
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while knowing when to seek guidance
  • Knowledge of supply planning or inventory management processes
  • Interest in building relationships, learning across supply chain functions, and contributing to team success
  • High school diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the right inventory is in the right place to support service expectations and recommend appropriate inventory levels
  • Develop and execute tactical inventory plans for assigned products, balancing service, cost, and supply considerations
  • Utilize ERP systems, planning tools, and exception reporting to support inventory planning and execution
  • Work with suppliers and/or manufacturing plants to ensure planned buys can be supported and to resolve supply gaps
  • Identify inventory risks using system outputs and exception reports, and support development of mitigation plans with guidance from manager
  • Understand the impact of planning decisions on the broader supply chain, including stores, and help balance inventory across the network
  • With guidance, understand work priorities and partner with others to improve or streamline planning processes within a defined area of responsibility
  • Identify root causes of supply or inventory issues and collaborate with partners to develop sustainable solutions
  • Determine the appropriate sequence of activities to meet short‑ and longer‑term planning objectives
  • Apply inventory management policies based on the relative importance and lifecycle of assigned products
  • Proactively communicate work status and coordinate with stakeholders when constraints or conflicts arise
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external partners to support collaboration and execution
  • Tailor communication to the appropriate audience, including leaders, to support understanding and alignment
  • Craft clear, concise messaging that accurately conveys complex planning situations using available data and inputs
  • Continue learning across supply chain functions and tools, share knowledge with peers, and contribute to a positive, productive work environment
