About The Position

Teradyne’s Supply Base Management Engineering team is seeking a Supply Line Engineer to support signal delivery assemblies for advanced test systems. This role will ensure complex electro-mechanical pathways meet performance, quality, cost, schedule, and manufacturability requirements from new product introduction through the full product lifecycle. The engineer will partner with design engineering to influence architecture, material selection, manufacturing methods, critical specifications, and supplier selection. They will develop clear, manufacturable technical requirements, including key characteristics, drawings, inspection methods, test expectations, and qualification criteria. The role involves assessing and qualifying suppliers through design-for-manufacturability reviews, process capability studies, measurement system analysis, pilot builds, audits, and production-readiness reviews. Additionally, the engineer will establish supplier controls for tooling, inspection, testing, process flow, PFMEA, control plans, statistical process control, and quality gates. Collaboration across design, operations, supplier quality, commodity management, and supplier teams is essential to identify risk, resolve quality issues, and improve yield, reliability, and process maturity. The position also supports lifecycle readiness through approved vendor alignment, supplier change control, product change and end-of-life reviews, alternate sourcing, and continuity-of-supply planning.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
8 to 15 years of experience in supplier engineering, product engineering, process development, or electronics manufacturing.
Strong understanding of signal transmission theory and how materials, geometry, manufacturing variation, assembly methods, and process controls affect electrical performance.
Experience with manufacturing methods used to attach coaxial wire to rigid printed circuit boards, flexible printed circuit boards, and high-frequency microwave connectors.
Experience with supplier qualification, design for manufacturability, PFMEA, control plans, process capability, statistical process control, Gage R&R, and root cause and corrective action.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of impedance, insertion loss, return loss, shielding, grounding, isolation, and high-speed interconnect performance.
Experience with soldering, crimping, cable and connector assembly, strain relief, overmolding, adhesive bonding, or related processes.
Experience with complex electrical test fixtures, mistake-proofing tooling, inspection methods, supplier test development, and new product introduction phase-gate deliverables.
Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent data-driven quality experience.
Experience working with a global supply base.
