About The Position

This position is in Cargill's Food Enterprise, which serves food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with a range of ingredients and products including poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa, and chocolate. The Supply and Inventory Planner plays a crucial role in the Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization, acting as a liaison between demand, capacity, and execution. This role is responsible for converting the long-term demand plan into a monthly supply plan that supports high service levels and customer demand while considering cost, capacity, and operational constraints. The planner will contribute to coordinating the long-term supply and inventory plan for product lines within the CSST NA business, supporting the development and management of a monthly supply and inventory plan aligned with the business's C-IBP process. Key activities include monitoring integrated business planning performance indicators, supporting stock health management, and coordinating across functions to identify and address risks and opportunities within the supply and inventory plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of experience with at least one in supply and inventory planning
  • Experience working effectively with multiple functions including transportation, operations, FSQR, production scheduling, warehouse/terminal, finance, demand planning, etc.
  • Experience with supply planning technologies (SAP IBP, APO, etc.)
  • Continuous improvement experience
  • Experience with critical thinking and challenge the status quo when appropriate
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Experience with Excel

Responsibilities

  • Create long term supply and inventory plan for assigned product lines as input for the integrated business planning cycle
  • Generate and execute safety stock plans for the assigned product or location, using the approved supply plan inputs.
  • Maintain data relevant to planning activities including costs, capacity, constraint, logistics, supplier, master and location data.
  • Develop gap coverage plans during inventory shortages.
  • Support the management of stock health management for assigned product lines with consistent monitoring of aging and non-performing inventory, holding cross-functional partners accountable to identified actions
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
