About The Position

Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking a Supply Distribution Technician to assist in our emergency department. This role is crucial for managing the supply chain within the hospital, ensuring that departments have the necessary materials while optimizing costs. The position involves understanding lean supply philosophies, performing basic analytics, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The technician will be responsible for receiving, stocking, and distributing supplies, managing inventory levels, and collaborating with various departments and procurement teams to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Understands lean supply philosophy, performs basic analytics using Microsoft products and other tools available through supply chain management systems.
  • Performs material receiving functions verifying correct items, quantities, processing receipts in the inventory management computer system, tagging/labeling and staging items for delivery.
  • Review reports, collaborate with department staff to adjust par levels, coordinate opportunities for improvement, implement and maintain the standardized community supply model.
  • Provides daily oversight of material functions while ensuring a safety focused environment complying with BJC, OSHA, Joint Commission standards and performs housekeeping functions in supply rooms.
  • Processes stock and non-stock orders in the inventory management systems, coordinates with procurement to resolve order issues, discrepancies, match exceptions, recalls and returns to vendor.
  • Oversees daily management, receipt and distribution of materials (supplies, equipment and linen) for multiple departments throughout the hospital and/or network.
  • Assists in training, mentoring and developing new Supply Technicians.
