Supply Delivery Technician
About The Position
The Supply Delivery Technician is part of the Maintenance Operations group at Vanderbilt University (VUMO). The Supply Delivery Technician is a key individual contributor responsible for the safe and timely delivery of tools and material to operating departments throughout the Vanderbilt University campus. Facilities provides facilities support for all construction, renovation, and routine maintenance of university space and facilities; housekeeping services for approximately 5.8 million square feet of academic, administrative, residential, and recreational space; grounds care for 330 acres that are a registered arboretum; turf care for.
Requirements
- High School Diploma is required.
- Valid Driver License is required.
- Valid Forklift License is required.
- 2 years of related experience is required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment is required.
- Demonstrated effective communication and teamwork skills are required.
- Demonstrated organized approach to work task details is required.
- Demonstrated skills utilizing Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office apps, and Oracle-based database systems required.
Nice To Haves
- Other post-secondary or skilled trades education is preferred.
- Previous Facilities Maintenance work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver material, tools, equipment and correspondence to various departments and operating units within maintenance and custodial zones throughout Vanderbilt University, multiple times each day.
- Ensure orders are correctly labeled, delivered, and secured in the correct storage area for each customer.
- Assist with receiving inventory and storing items in their designated storage bins and staging areas.
- Pick up material orders from local vendors and deliver them to the Chestnut Warehouse in a timely manner.
- Assist with miscellaneous housekeeping and inventory maintenance as well as any other duties assigned.
- Sort incoming mail at the Chestnut Warehouse, deliver mail to, and retrieve mail from the VUMO mailroom in the Baker building.
- Track and execute preventative maintenance and repairs for the Storeroom delivery van.
- Conduct daily security sweep of the Storeroom and Receiving Docks and Surplus Receiving area at end of each day.
- Assist with annual Physical Inventory and monthly cycle counts.
- Assist the other Material Coordinators and learn as much as possible about the Material Coordinator position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
