About The Position

Receives, stores, and issues uniforms, equipment, materials, forms, supplies, packages, and compiles stock records in a warehouse. Maintains office records, files, and detailed inventory records of agency property. Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventories of uniforms, equipment, and supplies, and prepares related reports. Issues uniforms, equipment, and supplies to agency personnel according to agency policies and procedures. Receives returned items, ensures proper documentation and storage. Receives, logs, secures, and tracks packages and equipment, notifying appropriate personnel of receipt. Compiles reports on inventory adjustments, stock discrepancies, damaged or spoiled items, shipment refusals, and location changes. Writes requisitions for supplies and equipment and assists with order tracking. Coordinates shipping and receiving activities with vendors and commercial carriers. Creates and completes routine correspondence, memorandums, reports, and other documents as directed, including accident and incident reports. Assists with tagging agency property and equipment and prepares items for disposal. Assists with on-site inventories of fixed assets and works with personnel to locate missing items and resolve discrepancies.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card.
  • Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated.
  • No illegal drug usage within the past year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must have valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Must attend and successfully complete the agency sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training if assignment includes driving agency vehicle.
  • Use of agency vehicle would require appropriate driving history and passing agency biennial driver’s physical exam.
  • Must successfully complete Forklift Certification training provided through the agency if assignment includes operating an agency forklift.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak before small groups of agency employees.
  • Must have basic computer skills to include word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Must have the ability to learn specialized department software and its applications.
  • Must have the ability to follow statutory and safety guidelines.
  • Must have customer service skills and the ability to maintain working relationships with vendors, delivery persons, the public, and agency personnel.
  • Must have the ability to safely handle weapons including firearms, chemical weapons, and electronic control devices.
  • Must maintain strict accountability of all items identifying personnel as members of law enforcement.

  • Operates warehouse and material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts, and shrink-wrapping equipment.
  • Verifies proper functioning and safe operation of supply vehicles and material-handling equipment.
  • Coordinates large freight shipments and deliveries.
  • Makes minor adjustments or repairs to stocked items, as appropriate.
  • Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of indoor and outdoor warehouse areas to ensure a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
