About The Position

Requirements

• One-year, full time delivery route driving experience delivering packages, route sales, mail, supplies, and equipment from a warehouse setting.
• Possession of a High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid, appropriate Nevada driver license.
• Be a citizen/naturalized citizen or permanent resident alien without conditions on status of the United States of America by the date of the first test instrument.
• Be at least 18 years old by the date of the first test instrument.
• Maintain a valid, appropriate Nevada driver license.
• Are subject to call-back requirements.
• If necessary, work shifts, adjusted shifts, overtime, and days appropriately determined by seniority, contract provisions, and Department Policy.
• Participate in the LVMPD Mental Wellness Program.
• Vision sufficient for reading fine prints in address labels and drive a mail van and delivery truck.
• Hearing sufficient to hear conversations and directions in person and over the telephone.
• Agility sufficient to stand, walk, stoop, bend, crawl, reach, rotate and extend neck, and balance self while preparing to load and unload items with or without the aid of tools and equipment.
• Mobility sufficient to climb ladders, operate a mail van and delivery truck, as well as work in the office and warehouse.
• Strength sufficient to lift and move moderately heavy supplies, material, and furniture items, with or without the aid of equipment.
• Endurance sufficient to stand for long periods of time, as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of delivery/driving experience (mail, supplies and equipment) and inventory knowledge in a warehouse setting.
• Organizational skills sufficient to meet strict guidelines.
• Customer service experience.
• The ability to communicate effectively verbally.
• The ability to effectively operate and maintain delivery vehicles.
• Excellent driving skills.
• Knowledge of the roadways of the Las Vegas valley.

• The salary for this position is negotiated through a collective bargaining agreement.
• All new employees will be hired at the minimum salary in the range and will be eligible for merit increases until reaching the maximum salary in the range.
