About The Position

This position is responsible for communicating effectively with customers, responding to customer issues and/or concerns, and performing routine quality/service rounds to units. The role requires attention to detail to ensure patients, visitors, and employees have a quality experience. The Supply Clerk demonstrates commitment to achieving superior customer satisfaction through quality of work, communication, problem-solving, initiative, flexibility, adaptability, and attitude. Requirements

  • 2 years experience in service/trades with some experience in materials/supply
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Locates, picks, and delivers stock items and/or equipment to the appropriate area.
  • Processes item/equipment returns and updates the inventory database.
  • Participates in routine physical inventory maintenance tasks.
  • Performs stock rotation to eliminate expired items.
  • Performs and/or assists in decontamination of equipment duties.
  • Ensures proper charges have been made regarding patient billable items and equipment.
  • Assembles and inspects all rental equipment as "ready to use".
  • Delivers supplies to departments, receives signatures verifying delivery, and issues receipts to ensure accurate and reliable supply distribution records are maintained.
  • Ensures catalog numbers are correct and products have not reached their expiration dates.
  • Assists in the annual inventory of hospital supplies.
  • Receives and stores stock, ensures adequate inventory levels are maintained, and notes shortages to avoid waste and conserve hospital resources.
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels in approved departments by preparing and submitting customized requisitions for supplies and equipment.
  • Verifies that ordered supplies are received and disbursed in the proper location, ensures requisitions are properly filled, and that the correct product is delivered to the department.
  • Monitors supply and equipment levels on special carts within nursing units, processes requisitions when needed, and performs quality assurance checks on crash carts to ensure proper working conditions.
  • Transports used equipment to the decontamination area for cleaning, retrieves clean equipment from the equipment room, and transports equipment and supplies to and from nursing units in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitors patient equipment and supply charges to ensure accurate patient billing.
  • Observes and adheres to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures and follows all safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards.
  • Completes assigned projects.
  • Active involvement in performance improvement initiatives.
