About The Position

Genuine Parts Company (GPC) offers a 10-week summer internship program in Atlanta, conducted in person. The program is designed as a cohort experience where interns gain hands-on experience with their teams while building connections and participating in professional development, leadership exposure, networking, and collaborative events. Interns contribute to business priorities and present their impact to senior leaders.

In this transportation-focused role, the intern works with resources across multiple departments to identify operational opportunities, capture data, and recommend countermeasures and solutions that improve performance or reduce variation. The work includes harvesting and analyzing data, connecting findings with conditions at nearby distribution centers and stores, improving processes, establishing key performance indicators, and visualizing outcomes through dashboards.

Requirements

• Be a rising junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in industrial, mechanical, electronic, or another related engineering field.
• Have basic skills with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Have strong analytical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Use Google BigQuery and other Google Cloud products to harvest data.
• Correlate data with real-world conditions by visiting nearby distribution centers and stores.
• Optimize processes by applying coursework and receiving mentoring from business owners.
• Control the new process by creating key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Visualize results by building dashboards in Power BI.
