About The Position

Under general supervision, this role is responsible for storing, requisitioning, picking, distributing, and delivering general, medical, and surgical supplies and equipment throughout perioperative and procedural settings. The position also involves managing consignment and vendor-owned inventory, including implants, in accordance with policy. Key duties include performing receipt of Purchase Orders into the system and staging supplies for delivery. All team members are expected to embody Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience in Supply Chain or related field.
  • Proficient in typing, computer use, and quickly learning new software applications.
  • Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems.
  • Knowledgeable in operating office equipment (fax, copier, printer).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders to include coworkers, management, and clinical partners.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English, both written and verbal, including active listening.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in customer service and problem solving.
  • Team members employed within the Tuomey Supply Chain Department location under this job description are required to submit and comply with Prisma Health annual MVR and Driver Training requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manages consignment inventory and assists in reconciling with consignment contracts.
  • Identifies usage and discrepancies related to vendor-owned inventory.
  • Ensures implants have proper chain of custody and document according to policy.
  • Receives Purchase Orders in the system and stages supplies for delivery.
  • Resolves order discrepancies while adhering to department policy and procedure.
  • Verifies incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy.
  • Ships outbound packages utilizing appropriate shipping methodologies.
  • Stores supplies in clean rooms, carts, and supply areas, using proper rotation.
  • Scans inventory labels to generate replenishment orders for both stock and non-stock items.
  • Picks supplies from storage locations for distribution and placement into Case Carts, and restocking Exchange Carts such as Code (Crash) Carts and Procedural Carts/Trays.
  • Checks various supply locations for expired or recalled products and removes them per policy.
  • Distributes oxygen tanks and minor equipment.
  • Delivers supplies and packages to nursing units, clinics, and other locations utilizing appropriate signature technologies.
  • Responds to phone calls, emails, and customer service requests.
  • Processes issues and credits in the ERP system, ensuring correct cost allocation.
  • Reports inventory discrepancies and documents according to policy.
  • Assists with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Utilizes various computer technologies such as handhelds, package scanners, and software programs.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace and ensures par locations are free of dirt, dust, and trash.
  • Assists with training Supply Chain staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
