Role Summary The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely procurement of materials, accurate inventory management, and seamless support coordination between procurement, production, and planning teams. This role supports daily production activities by maintaining adequate material levels, monitoring supply chain performance, and driving process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or five to seven years’ related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or production planning—preferably in a manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing industry
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with supply chain KPIs, and demand forecasting.
  • Familiarity with supplier quality assurance processes and KPIs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase raw materials, consumables, tooling, hardware, and packaging components required to support daily and forecasted production needs.
  • Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Expedite urgent orders and proactively resolve delivery or quality issues.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, receipts, and material consumption.
  • Approve invoices and expedite deliveries as needed to support production demands.
  • Review demand data and make decisions on purchasing needs to support fabrication schedule
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure service quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
  • Evaluate new suppliers to ensure capacity to deliver to our fabrication schedule and needs.
  • Resolve supplier issues related to defective or delayed deliveries by coordinating with vendors, quality control, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain vendor risk assessments, scorecards, and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage procurement data in systems such as Inflow and NetSuite, including: Placement of purchase orders, Receipt of goods, Procurement and inventory transactions
  • Maintain and update master data including part numbers, lead times, and reorder points.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records in digital and/or manual systems, including pricing, vendor data, delivery schedules, and performance metrics.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage supply chain transactions and reporting.
  • Collaborate with production, planning, and quality teams to meet operational and scheduling goals.
  • Update production schedules based on current supply chain status, including vendor lead times, delivery updates, and inventory levels.
  • Adjust procurement plans in response to demand changes or production delays.
  • Assist in troubleshooting supply disruptions that impact manufacturing timelines.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to proactively manage supply constraints and material shortages.
  • Generate and analyze supply chain reports to support performance tracking and strategic decision-making.
  • Support cost analysis, forecasting, and demand planning initiatives.
  • Identify and implement improvements in procurement and inventory processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, market shifts, and best practices in supply chain management.
