About The Position

U.S. Marine Management, LLC (USMMI) is providing support to the U.S. Army Pre-Positioned Stock Four (APS-4) Watercraft/Modular Causeway System (MCS) Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS), Exercise and Maintenance program located at the Watercraft Equipment Base – Yokohama North Dock (WEB-YND) in Yokohama, Japan, in order to support Military and Humanitarian actions worldwide. The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for the daily operational support of the storage facility and to maintenance personnel of all parts and materials stored in the storage facility (Building 500) and other storage locations for HAZMAT Materials and Special Tools. The Supply Chain Specialist will conduct the receipt, inspection, inventory, preservation, packaging, accounting, and storage of all parts and materials of supply classes I to IV and VI to IX to include shelf life, Test Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), Basic Issue Item (BII), Components of an End Item (COEI), On Board Spares Listing (OBSL), Sets, Kits and Outfits (SKO), expendable durable, General Services Administration (GSA), and locally procured items in accordance with U.S. Army regulations. They will be responsible to provide “ready to use” parts and materials in timely and efficient manner in support of U.S. Army Watercraft and Modular Causeway Systems (MCS) located at Watercraft Equipment Base-Yokohama North Dock (WEB-YND), Yokohama, Japan.

Requirements

  • Working experience with Federal, Department of Defense, and either/or Army/Navy/Air Force supply management and storage facility management programs with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience.
  • Proficient in the basic functionality of the GCSS-Army/FEDLOG systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and must be adaptive and flexible in meeting the needs of the business.
  • Capable of working independently and making sound decisions through creative problem-solving.
  • Must exhibit excellent attention to detail, communication, customer service and collaboration skills.
  • MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), MS Outlook, web applications, and document publishing applications (preferable)
  • Supports commitment to safety and other selected company standards and certifications.
  • USMMI is a drug-free work environment and requires employees to take random drug tests during their employment with the company.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining a security clearance from the Defense Security Service (DSS).

Responsibilities

  • Receive, stock, control inventory, conduct cyclic inventory, and issue materials for use with Army Watercraft, Government Furnished Equipment and Contractor Acquired Property.
  • Maintain an effective accountability of all storage facility stocked and stored items within the Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-Army) Database and in accordance with U.S. Army and DoD Regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels of materials, equipment, and stock issued, distributed, transferred within or outside the organization and/or disposed.
  • Compile inventory reports - detailing the quantity, type and value of materials, equipment and other stock on hand. Both manual and computerized inventory control and stocking taking methods will be used.
  • Be responsible to the Senior Supply Specialist to conduct a 100% quarterly, physical, hands-on inventory of all storage facility stock and bench stock and determine the condition of inventoried material for serviceability.
  • Utilize visual and technical inspection criteria to determine, if necessary, the disposal/turn in of stocked parts, equipment and material.
  • Will perform a reconciliation of inventories on record within the GCSS-Army Database versus actual physical counts.
  • Will update the GCSS-Army Database of parts and materials issued to the maintenance personnel receipting parts for daily maintenance of U.S. Army Watercraft
  • Will assist the Senior Supply Specialist with turning in requirements for all accountable parts, tools and equipment
  • Will be required to drive to other U.S. Bases or civilian vendors to execute pick up or delivery requirements as directed by the Senior Supply Specialist
  • Ensure that all items are stored IAW U.S. Army DoD and DA regulations.
  • Work with the Supply Specialist and Hazmat Coordinator to ensure the proper disposal of expired hazardous shelf-life materials.
  • Will work with the Senior Supply Specialist, the Supply Supervisor and all supply personnel in a professional manner to conduct receipting, storage, and inventories of parts and materials stored in the storage facility and hazardous materials storage unit as required.
  • Assist with the acquisition of locally procured parts and services as required.
  • Maintain and file records pertaining to supply acquisitions IAW Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS).
  • Complete additional assigned duties as required by U.S. Marine Management, LLC Management.
  • Must complete all government computer training requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a drivers permit for driving in Japan and on U.S. Government installations
  • Must complete DoD Shelf-Life Training.
  • Must complete DoD Hazmat Awareness Training.
  • Must complete forklift operations training and licensing.
