This role is crucial in managing inventory levels for raw materials and components, ensuring the Master Production Schedule (MPS) is met, and optimizing inventory reduction efforts. The Supply Chain Scheduler will also be responsible for measuring and improving supplier service rates, planning material requirements, and ensuring timely delivery of components to meet customer demand.

Requirements

  • Technical Bachelor’s of Science degree
  • 2+ years of experience with Supply Chain and/or Logistics
  • At least 1 year of experience in Supply Chain and/or Logistics at a high-speed manufacturing plant
  • Experience with Google or Microsoft Administrative applications
  • Experience with Just-In-Sequence Systems
  • Experience with SAP

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory levels for raw materials and components.
  • Monitor MPS achievement and propose preventative actions for material availability.
  • Set up and maintain appropriate raw material and component inventory levels.
  • Define and lead initiatives for inventory reduction within component families.
  • Measure Supplier Service Rate (SSR) for each supplier and propose action plans for improvement.
  • Track and report daily inventory levels of raw materials and components.
  • Ensure material and component availability to meet complete customer demand.
  • Plan raw material and component requirements based on Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) and MPS.
  • Anticipate potential impacts with suppliers and production.
  • Validate and send weekly forecasts to suppliers.
  • Monitor daily material arrivals against firm orders and ensure suppliers ship parts on time.
  • Communicate precise and reliable information to supplier contacts, adapting communication methods and frequency.
  • Identify blocking points and implement quick actions to resolve them.
  • Attend Logistics/Purchasing meetings and follow up on related action plans.
  • Propose action plans for material shortages with team support and communicate them to the Customer.
  • Support the implementation of supply chain improvement tools and methods (e.g., Pull flow, Kanban, EDI, Milk run).
  • Define inbound transportation plans with the External Flow Analyst.
  • Support inventory counting and propose actions to maintain inventory accuracy in cooperation with ERP and inventory control analysts.
  • Alert sales in case of crisis, define priorities with the Customer and internally, and follow associated action plans.
  • Escalate issues when necessary.
  • Meet with supplier contacts regularly (annually for major suppliers).
  • Propose logistics protocols with suppliers in cooperation with the External Flow Analyst and Purchasing.
  • Ensure supplier account coverage and train backups, notifying internal and external customers of absences and temporary coverage.
