The Supplier Quality Engineer reports to the Quality Manager and receives day to day operational directions from Quality, Logistics, and Purchasing leadership related to supply chain quality topics. This role requires a person that can leverage big-picture thinking, engineering skills/experience, and interpersonal skills to champion quality assurance across many departments and processes to improve the Krones Quality Management System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial/Mechanical Engineering degree preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing or associated internship/project experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause identification skills required
  • Must have outstanding communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Substantial interpersonal interaction is required, which may require formal presentations, written proposals and reports, team workshops etc.
  • The right candidate should be highly motivated, patient, self-directed, conscientious, team-oriented, very flexible, responsive, and creative.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably in the food and beverage production industry.
  • CSQP, CQA, CQE, or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience with GD&T and DIN Specifications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Experience with SAP, SAP S/4HANA, or Concur.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing applications, procedures, and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
  • Strong understanding of statistics.
  • Strong technical writing and reporting skills.
  • General social skills, dexterity, good organization and time management, excellent written and verbal communication, basic understanding of the metric system, and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately collect, record and analyze data.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Perform supplier audits and facilitate new supplier approvals with purchasing, manufacturing, and engineering to ensure Krones quality standards.
  • Create supplier quality complaint reports and work with purchasing and suppliers to determine corrective actions.
  • Work with the supply chain to manage containment for supplier quality issues.
  • Investigate multiple supplier related field returns/customer complaints for root cause, corrective actions, and preventative actions as well as provide reports on internal and external corrective action effectiveness and timeliness as part of customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with the Krones Logistics teams and on-site partners to maintain and improve supply chain quality
  • Lead cross-functional teams to address and resolve supplier product/service quality issues; perform validations of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Participate in ISO 9001 Quality management system certification preparation and assure on-going ISO 9001 requirements are continuously met.
  • Generate reports on supplier quality key performance indicators (KPIs), interpret KPI trends, and facilitate process improvement initiatives to meet strategic goals.
  • Leverage PPAP, FMEAs, and other applicable engineering strategies for critical parts to ensure supplier capabilities, risk mitigation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
