About The Position

The Supply Chain / Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing purchasing and contract negotiations for goods and services (components, materials, subcontracted services, and MRO) to ensure cost-effective, timely, and high-quality supply for the organization. This position is responsible for managing the team to ensure material availability and effective material planning, while driving strategies that support short- and long-term business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Operations, or other related field
  • 7 years of experience in a procurement, supply chain, or sourcing role in a manufacturing setting
  • Leadership experience
  • APICS/ASCM Certification
  • Ability to consistently achieve short and long-term business results
  • Ability to follow through on commitments and hold team members accountable
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for procurement improvements and implement strategies to achieve identified improvements.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including selection, contract negotiation, performance evaluation and risk mitigation.
  • Broaden and deepen relationships with existing and new suppliers while driving efficiency and cost reductions.
  • Provide leadership for supplier development efforts to optimize value and quality excellence to support our growth efforts into the medical market segments.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout all processes of the Supply Chain.
  • Select vendors who will provide consistently superior quality and delivery.
  • Improve and maintain proper supplier quality controls.
  • Drive inventory reductions through the creation of kanban, supplier-managed inventory and inventory consignment programs.
  • Manage materials and subcontract activities to support demand, manage inventories to provide competitive lead times for our customers while minimizing our investment and risk.
  • Develop and recommend purchasing policies for the organization.
  • Manage the maintenance of records of purchase, delivery dates, vendors, costs, and other resources.
  • Approve plans to work out remedies for defective or unacceptable goods or services.
  • Partner with operations, purchasing, and customer service to drive effective strategies.
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the purchasing team, including timecard review and performance plan review.
  • Assist in expanding the company culture to one of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Participate and drive programs essential to company success (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.).
  • Assess and improve written procedures and SOPs related to the purchasing function of the Company.
  • Monitor the utilization of employee safety and OE programs.
  • Partners closely with operations, engineering, quality, and sales to deliver strong performance to meet customer commitments.
