About The Position

Alliance Health System is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Lead with a strong background in healthcare sourcing, vendor management, and strategic cost containment. This role is responsible for leading sourcing initiatives, negotiating high-value contracts, managing supplier performance, and ensuring uninterrupted supply of medical, clinical, and operational materials in compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate brings 3-5+ years of procurement experience, preferably within hospitals, healthcare systems, medical device companies, or healthcare service organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • 5–10+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, with at least 3–5 years in healthcare.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating high-value contracts ($1M+ preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare supply chains, medical products, and vendor compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Lawson, Workday, Oracle, SAP).
  • Advanced Excel and spend analytics skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or related field).
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, C.P.M., or CSCP.
  • Experience working with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs).
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives for medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, capital equipment, and indirect services.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, rebates, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving and value-improvement opportunities.
  • Manage RFPs, RFQs, and bid evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and group purchasing organizations (GPOs).
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery timelines, and compliance.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with strategic vendors.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
  • Support compliance with organizations such as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and The Joint Commission.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready contract files.
  • Deliver measurable cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives.
  • Track procurement KPIs including spend analytics, savings targets, supplier performance metrics, and inventory optimization.
  • Collaborate with finance and clinical leadership to align procurement strategies with patient care goals.
  • Partner with clinical teams to evaluate product substitutions and value analysis initiatives.
  • Work closely with operations, finance, and compliance departments.
  • Support system implementations (ERP, inventory management, or supply chain systems).
