About The Position

Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Division is seeking a Supply Chain Analytics Analyst to support the Franklin, Indiana facility. This role is a key contributor within the Supply Chain organization, focused on advanced Excel analysis, reporting, and data visualization (including Power BI) to turn complex demand, order, and inventory data into clear, actionable insights. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys uncovering insights in data, building intuitive reports and dashboards, and effectively sharing results to support informed business decisions in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, a closely related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • ASCM CSCP, CPIM, or similar certification
  • Strong analytical and data visualization skills (Excel, Power BI) with familiarity in planning/ERP tools such as QAD/Mfg Pro
  • Experience in supply chain, MRP, or materials planning, including support of manufacturing or factory operations through analytics or operational collaboration
  • Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead inventory management and analytics efforts, including monitoring stock levels, turns, excess and obsolete material, and service risk to ensure optimal inventory health and production continuity
  • Perform detailed inventory analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; translate findings into actionable recommendations for supply chain and operations teams
  • Provide analytical support for planning discussions, including demand, backorders, inventory performance, and ERP data inquiries
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and analytical reports to improve visibility into inventory, demand, and order performance
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Planning, and Operations stakeholders to align inventory strategies with production needs and business priorities
  • Perform data preparation, modeling, and validation to support scalable, automated reporting solutions
