About The Position

The Supply Chain Network Planner is responsible for the strategic formulation of short to mid-term production plans that balance supply and demand for a specified manufacturing plant(s) or portfolio(s) of products, which may be manufactured, purchased or imported. The plan is developed in line with agreed SIOP parameters covering agreed capacity, inventory targets, service level and plant efficiencies. Iterations of the plan will be required to reflect ongoing operations. The Supply Chain Network Planner supports the Planning Manager with scenarios and recommendations to execute the SIOP process and delivers a feasible production plan for the short-term horizon to the Plant Scheduling and Buying team for conversion to work and production orders. Supply Network Planner works with Cross Functional stakeholders to manage demand move outs and hours associated based on capacity constraints. A significant element of the role is to proactively manage supply chain risks. Creative thinking and cross functional collaboration to resolve issues and maximize capacity. Issues should be escalated where appropriate, and stakeholders engaged and informed.

Requirements

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or other related field or equivalent experience.
  • If degreed, minimum of 3 years of business-related experience in planning & inventory analysis or similar areas.
  • If non-degreed, minimum of 7 years of business-related experience in planning & inventory analysis or similar areas.
  • Minimum of 1 year ERP experience, preferably Oracle EBS 12.2.6
  • Demonstrated experience with Production Planning / Scheduling.
  • Experience in managing the supply chain, raw materials, labor, and machines where the manufacturing process takes place.
  • Bills of Material/Specs/Fabrication Methodology. Knowledge of BOM purpose, typical structure/content, creation, maintenance & use.
  • Experience working with performance indicators & scorecards, understanding of the relationship between metric & process.
  • Demonstrated experience in Transportation Management
  • Capacity planning management. The process of determining and managing the production capacity needed by an organization to meet changing demands for its products.
  • Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) A set of decision-making processes to balance demand and supply, to integrate financial planning and operational planning, and link high-level strategic plans with day-to-day operations necessary to achieve focus, alignment, and synchronization among all functions of the organization.
  • Production Planning Capacity Utilization. The process of determining the production capacity, the maximum amount of work that an organization is capable of completing in a given period, needed by an organization to meet changing demands for its products.
  • Master Scheduling - Knowledge of coordinating and keeping track of all the different components related to the source activity.
  • Data Analytics - The ability to study historical data, analyze the effects of certain decisions or events, evaluate the performance of a given tool, scenario, or process, find potential trends, determine why an event occurred, and even predict future events, like routine maintenance, traffic patterns or demand.
  • Inventory Management – control and tracking of inventory items

Responsibilities

  • Develop viable short-term to mid-term Production Plan in line with agreed SIOP parameters and master data, capacity constraints and materials availability.
  • Participation in the consensus review in the formulation of constrained demand plans to drive production.
  • Formulate a short-term to mid-term plan for buying products that are imported.
  • Lead the Plant Pre SIOP-Review and agree plan scenarios plans with stakeholders in manufacturing and procurement.
  • Support the Supply Planning Manager with information and recommendations for the SIOP process
  • Integrate recommendations from the SIOP process into the plan and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage inventory levels including excess and obsolete. Provide financial forecasts for inventory to the finance team
  • Collaborate with Sr Plant schedulers, Plant Schedulers, and Buyers to align daily manufacturing schedule and suppliers’ PO with the production plan
  • Ensure demand and production trends and changes are communicated between commercial and plant stakeholders.
  • Monitor supply chain performance metrics, review & approve planning parameters and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with customer facing teams and conduct scenario plans to determine theoretical long-term capacity for strategic customer planning discussions
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others
