The Supply Chain Manager is a key member of the plant leadership team and serves as the primary resource leader for site material planning, material movement logistics, and inventory control. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of supply chain processes, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to driving operational excellence. The position is responsible for optimizing efficiency, enhancing customer service, controlling costs, maintaining quality standards, ensuring safety compliance, and fostering employee engagement. The Supply Chain Manager provides strategic direction and development to the team through empowerment, collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Supply Chain Manager promotes positive employee and labor relations by building and maintaining a capable, well-trained, and motivated organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 8 + years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain operations, manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • High attention to detail with strong follow-through on purchase orders and data accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Experience with inventory control systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and cross-functional skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with raw material procurement and production-driven purchasing.
  • Experience with Syteline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Purchasing team.
  • Ensure PO placement and inventory requirements are met through purchasing activities to ensure consistent and accurate flow of product to support production operations.
  • Resolve supplier delivery issues, shortages, and delays.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing, pricing, and vendor records in the ERP/MRP system.
  • Monitor and support supplier performance related to delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Lead and oversee the Scheduling team.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust priorities to address delays, equipment breakdowns, or changes in demand.
  • Communicate schedule updates, changes, and priorities to supervisors, operators, and leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement of scheduling processes, tools, and reporting.
  • Manage Shipping and Receiving teams to ensure efficient material flow.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Prioritize and escalate shipments and receipts based on production and customer requirements.
  • Partner with finance to resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing variances, and receipt issues.
  • Collaborate with Production teams and leadership to ensure production schedule and customer requirements are met.
  • Serve as the escalation point for Customer Service to ensure timely reporting and resolution of customer inquiries.
