About The Position

This position is responsible for the coordination and management of the non-liquid purchasing and inventory services at Eastern. The Supply Chain Manager leads and manages the activities of employees engaged in purchasing and distributing parts and supplies for all warehouse locations. As a leader in the organization, this position is responsible for fostering the Mission, Vision, Values, and Pillars of Eastern, modeling servant leadership, and developing emerging talent within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
  • 10 years’ experience in inventory/warehouse management, energy industry, or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience with computerized procurement and perpetual inventory systems including the design, interpretation, and application of management reports.
  • Knowledge of current procurement, delivery, and warehousing methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business administration or related field a plus.
  • Association for Supply Chain Management certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the procurement and warehouse functions at Eastern to ensure optimal productivity and performance.
  • Participate in the development of the long-term direction for the procurement and inventory services programs, keeping in mind the impact of current actions on future goals and objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a cost reduction program.
  • Develop sourcing strategies in pursuit of the ultimate supplier partnerships.
  • Monitor and manage supplier relationships and performance to meet assigned performance measures.
  • Manage direct reports by coordinating tasks and providing guidance. Leadership functions additionally include the following.
  • Coach staff on a daily basis while maintaining morale, motivation, accountability, discipline, and positive recognition.
  • Create a workplace culture that is consistent with Eastern’s overall culture and emphasizes the identified mission, vision, and pillars of Eastern.
  • Develop growth opportunities for direct reports.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training new employees.
  • Mentor direct reporting manager(s) to model Servant Leadership and support their team(s) within the leadership metrics defined above.
  • Develop appropriate measures and metrics of Eastern with its suppliers; review and distribute evaluation quarterly.
  • Create and utilize reports for the management of inventory levels, order fulfillment, forecasting of future material requirements, and vendor performance; distribute appropriate summary information to stakeholders.
  • Establish and manage the departmental budget and participate in the development of goals and strategies for the department.
  • Coordinate and lead the systemwide Product Review Committee with the overarching goal of product and appliance standardization.
  • Collaborate with district leaders, Energy Consultants, and corporate departments to meet internal and external customer needs.
  • Lead the integration of inventory services during acquisitions and onboard the inventory and warehouse operations in those new districts.
  • Create and maintain written procedures and policies to ensure materials are available or delivered when needed.
  • Analyze the business environment continuously to uncover and address creative and technological solutions to policy and process issues.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the purchase order and requisition processes. Develop and implement solutions.
  • Travel to Eastern’s district offices regularly and as needed to support Warehouse Materials Coordinators, district needs, and continuous improvement efforts within the inventory systems.
  • Interact with customers and co-workers in a respectful and courteous manner.
  • Support Eastern’s policies and procedures and comply with all applicable regulatory standards.
  • Be receptive to and competently use new technologies.
  • Be receptive to and successfully complete other duties as assigned.
