About The Position

The Supply Chain Manager will lead and optimize the end-to-end supply chain operations for our multi-site, multi-division parts and accessories company. This role will lead our purchasing, warehousing, and demand planning teams, while also generating management reports for KPI’s tracking supplier and department performance. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient sourcing, purchasing, storage, and distribution of inventory to meet internal and external customer demands while minimizing costs and maximizing operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and experience in managing supplier relationships and inventory systems in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Business Director, this position plays a key role in driving supply chain excellence, reducing lead times, and supporting business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field; Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in supply chain management, with hands-on expertise in sourcing, purchasing, warehousing, and demand planning within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in tools such as ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft GP, Syteline) with a focus on forecasting and MRP, Excel, and other supply chain software.
  • Demonstrated ability to forecast demand for multiple products across multiple manufacturing sites by leveraging MRP capabilities to generate suggested supply (purchase/manufacture) orders.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities, with a track record of building strategic supplier relationships and achieving cost savings.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory control principles, forecasting methodologies, and lean supply chain practices to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, including safety standards (e.g., OSHA), quality management (e.g., ISO), and international trade regulations if applicable.
  • Leadership and team management skills; mentoring staff and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting reports, negotiating contracts, and interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic environments, manage multiple priorities, and implement continuous improvement initiatives like Six Sigma or Kaizen.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, electronic mail, procedures and performance documents, as examples, in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively conduct meetings in person and with technology assistance.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to utilize data to make business decisions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to align with company goals, optimizing the supply base in partnership with supplier quality, and continuously improving purchasing, warehouse management, and demand forecasting processes.
  • Oversee procurement activities, including supplier selection, negotiation of contracts, and ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of parts and accessories.
  • Manage warehouse operations, including inventory control, cycle counting, storage, receiving, picking, packing, and shipping (internal & external customers) to maintain high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct demand planning and forecasting using data analytics and market trends to predict inventory needs, avoid stockouts, and reduce excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, production, and finance, to integrate supply chain activities and support overall business objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), generating management reports and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and quality control measures for supply chain processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure reliable supply sources and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
  • Negotiate and manage freight contracts (domestic and international) for inbound and outbound orders.
  • Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, providing skills and systems training and frequent performance feedback to foster a high-performing department.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, such as disruptions from global events or supplier challenges, through contingency planning.
