About The Position

The Supply Chain Manager leads all aspects of supply chain and needs to collaborate closely with warehouse, production, lab, quality and external service providers. This state-of-the-art facility includes automated dry premix production, liquid premix production, advanced HVAC systems, and a fully automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) in the warehouse. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for end‑to‑end supply chain operations at a newly commissioned premix manufacturing plant in Chilliwack, BC working alongside HQ partners. This role owns inbound planning, inventory management, production planning, and cross‑border customs compliance. This position plays a critical leadership role in transitioning the site from project phase to stable operations. Building and developing a new team; ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable supply chain execution in a highly automated SAP/WMS environment.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain / Planning/Cross border shipments/3PL management
  • Experience in manufacturing or ingredient/food environments
  • Hands‑on experience working in SAP (ERP and EWM preferred) and WMS systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with cross‑border Canada–U.S. logistics.
  • Strong understanding of customs documentation and compliance for Europe and North America.
  • Proven ability to build and lead teams in startup or change environments.
  • Greenfield or plant startup experience and direct involvement in project‑to‑operations handover
  • Premix, food, ingredients, or regulated manufacturing background.
  • Exposure to Vancouver Port or similar high‑volume ports.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS / CSCP / PMP or similar certification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound raw material logistics from Vancouver Port to Chilliwack alongside a 3PL provider.
  • Coordinate drayage, customs clearance, container scheduling, and receiving capacity.
  • Minimize freight congestion, container dwell time, and demurrage risk for inbound.
  • Adhere to standards set by HQ for all above activities to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Manage lead times and work with HQ on product availability for the site.
  • Establish and maintain supply chain related SOPs, work instructions, and escalation protocols.
  • Own outbound finished goods distribution to U.S. copackers; align with HQ.
  • Ensure compliant and accurate cross‑border customs documentation, including: Commercial invoices, Packing lists, HS codes, Country of Origin / USMCA, FDA prior notice (as applicable).
  • Manage relationships with customs brokers, carriers, and freight forwarders.
  • Proactively prevent border delays through documentation audits and KPI tracking.
  • Point person to escalate any regulatory related issues to HQ.
  • Function as business owner for supply chain processes in SAP and WMS.
  • Coach and train the supply chain team to be SME in the SAP space.
  • Partner with IT to ensure accurate master data, inventory management, and HU handling.
  • Prevent inventory discrepancies through disciplined transaction controls.
  • Support system testing, go‑live stabilization, and post‑go‑live optimization.
  • Establish inventory management strategy for a new plant with evolving demand.
  • Ensure FEFO compliance and follow through for raw materials utilization.
  • Own the production planning piece to maintain ingredient inbound flow and FG outbound flow.
  • Spearhead the OTIF deliverable for copackers from a planning perspective.
  • Implement cycle counting and inventory accuracy processes from day one.
  • Balance service levels, space utilization, and working capital.
  • Coordinate with finance as a main point person for year-end inventory reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, provincial, and federal regulations for the supply chain space.
  • Ensure supply chain activities comply with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards as set by HQ.
  • Support internal and external audits (food safety, customs, safety).
  • Maintain records and documentation required for regulatory compliance and audits.
  • Perform an internal mock audit to test measures in place for product flow compliance and sustainability.
  • Build, lead, and develop supply chain team from the ground up.
  • Define and track ramp‑up KPIs (Inventory accuracy, Dock‑to‑stock time and Safety metrics).
  • Drive stabilization before cost or efficiency optimization.
  • Identify and lead improvement initiatives once operations mature.
  • Own and achieve quality related KPI's like failure notices in general.
  • Internal audit results from QA and corrective action implementation within 30 days.
