About The Position

PPG's Aerospace business is seeking a passionate and driven Supply Chain Manager – Aerospace Transparencies to develop strategies for efficient manufacturing and on-time delivery of products that consistently meet customer requirements. This role involves ensuring timely and accurate response to customer orders by providing the required information, schedules, materials, and accurate systems to manufacturing teams. The position is also responsible for the planning and scheduling of raw materials, work orders, and finished goods inventory to align with customer demand. This is a leadership position that will drive improvement initiatives and requires a thorough knowledge of company operations, sales environment, and cost structures. This is an On-Site role reporting to the Grand Prairie, TX facility, and the individual will report to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering or Operations required.
  • Six (6) years of experience in diverse manufacturing environments required.
  • Five (5) or more years as a Supply Chain Manager or related role required.
  • Solid Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and hand-on experience with Lean Tools required.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Experience with Supply, Inventory, and Operations Planning to balance supply and demand requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of materials management, supply chain, and inventory strategies to achieve plant objectives, improve customer service, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team responsible for logistics, inventory control, material planning, production scheduling, master scheduling, and supply chain analytics.
  • Oversee forecasting, capacity planning, and the SIOP process to align demand, supply, resources, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Optimize MRP, planning parameters, lead times, safety stock levels, and lean pull systems to ensure material availability and operational efficiency.
  • Drive inventory optimization, purchase order management, cycle counting, and inventory accuracy across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Monitor and improve key performance metrics, including on-time delivery, inventory levels, manufacturing performance, and shortage recovery plans to minimize disruptions.
  • Partner with production leadership, executives, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to execute global material strategies, remove bottlenecks, and achieve operational excellence.
