About The Position

Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the Inland Northwest and Pacific Northwest Regions. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California, and Arizona, IAS supplies a diverse product line of asphalts, polymer-modified asphalt, and asphalt emulsions to the road maintenance and construction industry. IAS is looking for an energized and flexible self-starter to fill a full-time opening for a Supply Chain Logistics Coordinator. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, this role is responsible for assisting with department office operations, customer service, and supporting the supply chain process.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of related experience, education, or certification
  • Experience working in and maintaining databases using Microsoft Excel and others relevant to company processes
  • Experience improving logistics processes
  • Good analytical and planning skills to establish supply requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of department processes
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Highly organized
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP
  • Normal concentration/intensity, which includes prolonged mental effort.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of asphalt experience (various, for background) is preferred
  • Experience in dealing with railroads is beneficial
  • Light travel

Responsibilities

  • Assist with rail fleet logistics
  • Monitor and update rail fleet report daily
  • Assist with supply data analysis
  • Audit for accuracy, enter, and approve rail invoices
  • Assist with maintaining rail rates in ERP system
  • Collaborate with internal operational teams to ensure efficient rail moves
  • Aid in the coordination of inbound shipments with our supply chain partners
  • Aid in troubleshooting carrier issues
  • Participate in development meetings and assist in achieving department goals
