About The Position

The Supply Chain Lead is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of the Mesquite plant supply chain to ensure superior customer service, operational excellence, and inventory performance. This position provides leadership across planning, scheduling, procurement, logistics, inventory management, and customer care functions while aligning supply chain strategies with business objectives. The role is accountable for balancing supply and demand, driving service performance, maintaining inventory targets, and supporting the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. As a key member of the plant leadership team, the Supply Chain Lead partners closely with Operations, Commercial, Customer Service, Logistics, Sourcing, and Finance teams to maximize service, cost, and cash performance while fostering a customer-centric and continuous improvement culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive supply chain, operations, logistics, planning, customer service, or materials management experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience managing teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with demand planning, inventory management, procurement, logistics, and customer service.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, SAP preferred.
  • Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence business decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting supply chain operations within a warehouse, distribution center, or distribution-focused manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management, distribution operations, inventory storage strategies, space optimization, material flow, and warehouse efficiency improvement initiatives is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Mesquite Supply Chain team, including scheduling, procurement, logistics, inventory control, and customer care functions.
  • Establish clear goals, KPIs, and performance expectations that align with business objectives.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor team members while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.
  • Build organizational capability through succession planning and talent development.
  • Own and manage the plant Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) process to ensure alignment between customer demand, production capacity, and material availability.
  • Lead regular supply and demand reviews to identify risks, resolve constraints, and implement mitigation plans.
  • Maintain planning system integrity, ensuring accurate demand, inventory, and supply data.
  • Partner with commercial, operations, and sourcing teams to develop short- and long-term supply plans.
  • Support annual operating plans and forecasting activities through capacity, inventory, and supply analysis.
  • Establish and validate inventory strategies and targets to achieve customer service, working capital, and operational objectives.
  • Monitor inventory performance and proactively address supply shortages, excess inventory, and slow-moving materials.
  • Lead cross-functional discussions regarding inventory optimization opportunities, including network balancing, cross-docking, and production prioritization.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and control processes are maintained.
  • Foster a customer-first culture focused on service excellence and responsiveness.
  • Monitor key service metrics, including On-Time and Complete (OTC) performance, and lead corrective actions when targets are not achieved.
  • Serve as the escalation point for critical customer service, supply, or logistics issues.
  • Optimize logistics networks, transportation planning, warehouse operations, distribution strategies, and warehouse space utilization to improve service levels, maximize storage efficiency, and reduce operational costs.
  • Partner with Logistics and Customer Service teams to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Lead initiatives focused on improving service, reducing costs, optimizing inventory, and enhancing supply chain agility.
  • Apply Lean, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and improve processes.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making and root cause analysis to resolve operational challenges.
  • Support plant productivity and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Champion Owens Corning's safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Integrate safety expectations into supply chain operations and employee development activities.
  • Support site safety initiatives and drive accountability for safety performance.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and internal controls.
