About the Role Due to continued growth, Babcock is seeking a Supply Chain Lead to join our team in Henderson WA, supporting the delivery of complex projects and programs across our Defence business. Reporting to the Regional Supply Chain Operations Manager , this role is responsible for leading sourcing, contracting and supplier management activities that enable successful project delivery. You will play a critical role in ensuring procurement outcomes align with project schedules, commercial objectives and governance requirements while delivering value for money and managing risk. As a trusted supply chain leader, you will oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies, lead complex procurement activities, negotiate commercial agreements and manage the full contract lifecycle. You will work closely with Operations, Commercial and Program Delivery teams to ensure procurement and supplier strategies are integrated into project planning and execution. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement and supply chain professional who enjoys working in a dynamic project environment and wants to make a tangible impact across strategic Defence programs. You will establish and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships, implement supplier performance frameworks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement capability and business outcomes. Leading a small team, you will also provide coaching, development and support to procurement professionals while fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture. Success in this role will come from your ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution, build strong stakeholder relationships, and deliver commercially sound procurement and contract solutions that support both immediate project requirements and longer-term business objectives.

Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance.
  • Relevant qualifications in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Finance, Law, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end sourcing activities including market analysis, supplier selection, RFx processes, commercial negotiations and contract formation.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and performance frameworks, including addressing delivery, compliance and commercial issues.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management principles and commercial risk management within complex or project-based environments.
  • Experience developing sourcing strategies and delivering procurement outcomes that balance cost, quality, risk and schedule requirements.
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple business functions.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing procurement or supply chain professionals.
  • Current Driver's Licence and White Card (or ability to obtain).

  • Membership of, or willingness to obtain membership with, a recognised professional body such as CIPS or ASCI.
