About The Position

We are looking for a Supply Chain Intern in La Crosse, WI. This internship provides exposure to end-to-end supply chain processes within a food and beverage manufacturing environment while developing foundational knowledge of supply chain systems, processes, and best practices. The Supply Chain Intern supports day-to-day supply chain operations at Select Custom Solutions while gaining practical experience across key functional areas, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and production planning. Working closely with the Supply Chain team and cross-functional partners, this role assists with supply chain activities, data analysis, process improvement initiatives, and special projects that support operational efficiency and business needs.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum one (1) year working with and managing business reporting tools
  • Understanding of ERP functional areas such as: Accounting, Supply Chain, & Manufacturing
  • Ability to manage medium-size projects from start to finish including but not limited to setting meetings and agenda, capturing notes and action items, troubleshooting issues, identifying roadblocks, communication to stakeholders, recording and tracking of project work items, and gathering end user signoff.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with executives, managers, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to extract, analyze, and act on information with limited supervisory input.
  • Results driven, bottom-line oriented, strive to exceed goals, and motivate self and others to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and field-specific software.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, establish priorities, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines in a professional manner in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving and quantitative critical thinking skills
  • Basic understanding of supply chain concepts and principles.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data to support supply chain operations, including demand forecasting, inventory management, and logistics optimization.
  • Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.
  • Help with supplier communications, order placement, and tracking of purchase orders.
  • Support the logistics team in coordinating shipments, tracking deliveries, and resolving transportation issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on supply chain performance metrics, including inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and delivery times.
  • Work with various departments, including production, quality assurance, and sales, to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Protocol.
  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.
