About The Position

The Supply Chain Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing end-to-end procurement strategies for equipment spare parts to minimize inventory carrying costs and manage the disposition of obsolete or expired items. This role involves understanding and integrating the current spare parts procurement process with IBM Maximo for data accuracy and visibility. The engineer will cultivate strong vendor relationships, recommend sourcing strategies, and categorize spare parts based on consumption and criticality. They will implement and maintain robust inventory control procedures, manage daily warehouse operations, and analyze inventory data to forecast demand and optimize stock levels. The position requires ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records, and generating reports on inventory status. A key aspect of the role is developing dashboards for real-time inventory visibility and creating a Plan For Every Part (PFEP) template. The engineer will also work with Onsite/Offshore teams, utilize SQL databases and Maximo integration frameworks, and collaborate closely with the client to understand requirements and document business processes. Ensuring the Maximo Core Model is well-documented and consistently evolved is also crucial. Inventory management will follow ABC Analysis, monitoring stock levels half-yearly using FIFO & 5S rules to increase productivity, reduce waste, and achieve cost savings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related technical field is often preferred.
  • 10+ years of Exp in inventory control, Spare parts Management, logistics, or parts management, preferably within a medical, pharmaceutical, FMCG or technical field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage inventory issues and optimize processes.
  • Strong knowledge in working with IBM Maximo, SAP is mandate & other enterprise resource planning or other inventory management software is added advantage.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with Offshore, Vendor and customer interface.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willing to relocate to John's creek facility.
  • Working with the help of SQL Database, Database Configuration, Maximo integration Framework.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical device regulations and quality control standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute end-to-end procurement strategies for equipment spare parts to minimize inventory carrying costs and manage the disposition of obsolete or expired items.
  • Understand the current spare parts procurement process (PO initiation, GRN, incoming inspection, receiving, stocking, inventory tracking, and SAP backflush) and integrate it with IBM Maximo for data accuracy and visibility.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong vendor relationships to secure favourable pricing, timely delivery, and high-quality parts, including sourcing hard-to-find or non-stock parts.
  • Recommend sourcing strategies for various materials, including consumables and hardware, based on business needs and real-time tracking solutions.
  • Categorize spare parts based on consumption and business criticality (e.g., high usage, insurance parts, critical spares) and implement inventory management methodologies like Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Reorder Point (ROP), and Min/Max algorithms to define optimal stock levels.
  • Implement and maintain robust inventory control procedures to ensure data accuracy and optimal stock levels.
  • Manage daily warehouse operations, including the receiving, issuing, and shipping of spare parts.
  • Analyse inventory data, usage rates, and turnover to identify trends, forecast demand in collaboration with maintenance teams, and optimize stock levels.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing inventory shipments and resolve any logistical problems.
  • Organize and label parts for easy identification and storage.
  • Inspect incoming parts for quality and conformity to specifications before adding them to inventory.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to reconcile discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
  • Ensure all inventory management activities adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements, such as FDA guidelines for medical devices.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inventory transactions for audit purposes.
  • Generate and present regular reports to management on inventory status, consumption rates, and cost of sales.
  • Develop dashboards to provide real-time inventory visibility and procurement status to stakeholders.
  • Develop a Plan For Every Part (PFEP) template for spare parts and integrate it with existing systems like IBM Maximo to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Work with Onsite/Offshore team and drive the Project.
  • Working with the help of SQL Database, Database Configuration, Maximo integration Framework.
  • Work closely with the client to understand their requirement, identify their pain points, and document their business processes.
  • Ensure that Maximo Core Model (processes & rules) is well documented, evolves consistently and is not jeopardized by localization.
  • Inventory Management Following ABC Analysis, Monitoring Stock Levels Half-Yearly following FIFO & 5S rules increase productivity, reduce waste, and create cost-savings.
