About The Position

The Supply Chain Data Analyst is responsible for transforming operational, procurement, inventory, production, logistics, and ERP data into actionable insights that improve supply chain performance across Watershed Foods and related manufacturing sites. This analytical role designed is for someone who can work across departments, interpret imperfect data, identify operational inefficiencies, and communicate findings through clear data storytelling. The position will support supply chain decision-making by developing dashboards, improving reporting structure, supporting ERP migration efforts, and creating visibility into inventory risk, supplier performance, production alignment, purchasing activity, and warehouse performance.

Requirements

  • Experience working with ERP systems, business systems, or large operational data sets.
  • Experience supporting ERP migration, ERP implementation, system conversion, data cleanup, or master data improvement projects.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, structured tables, and data validation.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Power Query, or similar data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work with imperfect, inconsistent, or incomplete data and still produce useful business insight.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain data findings to non-technical business users.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food manufacturing, CPG, ingredients, packaging, warehousing, logistics, or multi-site manufacturing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Aptean Food & Beverage, Catalyst, SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience utilizing new tools such as AI platforms and development of AI Clients.
  • Experience building Power BI dashboards or automated reporting tools.
  • Experience analyzing procurement, inventory, production, warehouse, logistics, supplier, or customer service data.
  • Familiarity with item master data, supplier master data, lead times, BOMs, routings, purchase orders, inventory transactions, and production reporting.
  • Understanding of food safety, lot traceability, quality holds, and regulated manufacturing data requirements is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, economics, operations management, finance, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in supply chain analytics, operations analytics, procurement analytics, inventory analytics, statistical analytics, business intelligence, data analysis, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve supply chain dashboards, reports, and analytical tools.
  • Analyze purchasing, inventory, production, warehouse, logistics, supplier, and customer service data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Build reporting tools that help the business understand service levels, inventory exposure, supplier performance, material availability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support recurring supply chain reporting for leadership, operations, procurement, finance, and executive review.
  • Identify data gaps, process inconsistencies, and reporting limitations that reduce visibility or decision quality.
  • Combine data from procurement, production, inventory, warehouse, logistics, quality, sales, customer service, and finance to identify operational efficiency opportunities.
  • Analyze how decisions in one department impact performance in another.
  • Support development of cross-functional metrics that improve alignment between supply chain, operations, commercial, and finance teams.
  • Help identify bottlenecks, duplicate work, process delays, inventory imbalances, and cost drivers.
  • Build tools that help departments make decisions from a shared version of the data.
  • Analyze inventory levels, days on hand, safety stock, reorder points, usage trends, and material availability.
  • Support inventory risk reporting, including slow-moving inventory, excess inventory, shortage risk, and inventory value exposure.
  • Develop dashboards that help identify when materials are understocked, overstocked, or misaligned with demand.
  • Support planning and procurement teams with data-driven buy recommendations.
  • Analyze usage history, forecast changes, production schedules, and lead times to support better supply planning.
  • Assist in developing inventory control models that improve working capital and service levels.
  • Track supplier performance, including on-time delivery, lead time adherence, pricing accuracy, quality documentation, and responsiveness.
  • Support supplier scorecard development and maintenance.
  • Analyze purchase price variance, cost trends, contract compliance, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Support index-buying and commodity review processes by organizing market, cost, inventory, and usage data.
  • Use data to identify inefficient workflows, manual processes, reporting gaps, and recurring operational issues.
  • Document current-state and future-state reporting processes.
  • Help standardize metrics, definitions, data sources, and reporting cadence.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects focused on operational efficiency, cost control, inventory improvement, and system reliability.
