About The Position

The Supply Chain Coordinator will assist the Product Manager in the procurement of steel products, including coil, plates, sheets, bars, and tubes. This role involves monitoring and tracking inventory levels, lead times, and pricing trends to ensure adequate supply and competitive pricing. The coordinator will maintain accurate purchasing records in the purchasing system/ERP and collaborate with the logistics department for efficient inventory management and shipment coordination. Responsibilities also include designing truck routes, dispatching drivers within the TMW System, and compiling loads based on various factors such as delivery date, product type, customer expectations, delivery time, and DOT regulations. The role requires rerouting and collaborating with drivers to maximize efficiency between stops, as well as performing clerical tasks, data entry, answering phone calls, and resolving issues.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with routing, purchasing, or inventory management software preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Product Manager in the procurement of steel products, including coil, plates, sheets, bars, and tubes.
  • Monitor and track inventory levels, lead times, and pricing trends to ensure adequate supply and competitive pricing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchasing activities in purchasing system/ERP.
  • Work with the logistics department to coordinate the shipment of goods and ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Design truck routes to multiple geographic areas throughout the country.
  • Dispatch both employee and commercial drivers within the TMW System.
  • Work closely with branch sales, dispatchers, and management to compile loads according to many factors, including but not limited to delivery date, types of products, customer expectations, delivery time and DOT regulations that apply to the loading or delivery process.
  • Rerouting and collaborating with drivers to move and achieve maximum amount of efficiency between stops.
  • Perform clerical tasks, data entry, answer phone calls, and respond and resolve issues that come up.
