JPI has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Commercial Specialist to join our Operations Support Center team located in Dallas. The Construction Supply Chain Commercial Specialist is responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of the construction supply chain. This role ensures cost and inventory efficiency, contractual compliance, and strong supplier relationships. The specialist supports project delivery by mitigating commercial risk, executing procurement strategies and continuous improvement processes across the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Commercial Management, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in construction industries and / or supply chain roles.
  • Experience in inventory management and procurement.
  • Knowledge of standard construction contracts.
  • Commercial and financial acumen within construction supply chains.
  • Understanding of construction procurement processes.
  • Ability to interpret contracts, pricing structures, and cost models.
  • Good analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Material Procurement and Buyout
  • Prepare, track, and manage supplier contracts.
  • Prepare contracts and purchase order documents.
  • Monitor contract performance, ensuring compliance with commercial and contractual obligations.
  • Support completion of all supply chain buyout deliverables .
  • Vendor Management and Risk Mitigation
  • Maintain good relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier KPIs including contract performance, delivery performance, and service performance.
  • Report contract or delivery risks to Commercial Lead.
  • Ensure vendors are adhering to the construction delivery schedule.
  • Contracts, Change Management and Cost Control
  • Track and measure contract agreement price against budget.
  • Validate change orders to the original contract agreement for accuracy.
  • Analyze inventory data for finanicial and material consumption risk.
  • Support cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Inventory and Delivery Management
  • Assist with inventory controls, receiving, and issuance processes.
  • Ensure materials are accurately tracked and documented to support routine audits.
  • Report delivery issues, shortages, and damages in coordination with vendors and field teams.
  • Project Support
  • Align procurement activities with CPM schedules and construction milestones.
  • Support project teams by proactively addressing material impacts to the critical path.
  • Communicate procurement status, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders.
  • Assist with PO reconciliation and contract completion.
