About The Position

Piper Products, a CFS Brands company, is looking for a Buyer to join our Supply Chain Buyer team in Wausau, Wisconsin! If you enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, building strong supplier relationships, and making sure the right materials are available when they are needed, this could be a great opportunity for you. As a Buyer, you will play an important role in supporting production and customer orders by ensuring purchased materials are available on time and in the correct quantities. You will work closely with suppliers, production, scheduling, and internal teams to identify and resolve material shortages while supporting inventory and purchasing goals.

Requirements

  • 1–5 years of purchasing, buying, or production planning experience preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Supply Chain degree or CPIM certification preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently while following established processes and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Purchase materials to ensure sufficient supply is available to meet production and customer requirements
  • Monitor material availability and take corrective action when shortages or delays occur
  • Communicate material shortages and supply concerns to the appropriate teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support on-time delivery, accurate quantities, and quality materials
  • Monitor supplier performance and work proactively to resolve purchasing issues
  • Support lean purchasing practices and help minimize material and supplier-related costs
  • Track and support monthly key performance indicators (KPIs), including: Purchase Price Variance (PPV), Days on Hand, Inventory Value, SO Allocations
  • Support companywide physical inventory activities
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and material information
  • Follow all company manufacturing, safety, and quality requirements
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
