About The Position

The client is located in the Addison, IL area and has an opportunity for a Supply Chain Buyer. This role is responsible for ensuring timely procurement of materials, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting production and customer deliveries. This is a temp to possible perm role that must be performed on-site.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with purchasing, expediting, MRP/ERP systems, quality/continuous improvement initiatives, manufacturing safety practices and MS Office
• Must have worked in ERP systems
• Experience with procuring raw materials and components

Nice To Haves

• APICS CPIM/CSCP, CPSM certs are a plus
• Must have a willingness to obtain APICS CPIM/CSCP, CPSM certs

Responsibilities

• Ensuring timely procurement of materials
• Maintaining inventory levels
• Supporting production and customer deliveries
• Coordinating inventory planning, replenishment, and forecasting activities with Production Control, Operations, Engineering, and Sales
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Manage PO's, delivery schedules, expedites, and material shortages
• Leading supplier negotiations, RFQs, cost reduction initiatives, supplier evaluations, and continuous improvement efforts
• Experience with inventory accuracy initiatives, supplier evaluations, and continuous improvements
